Elephant Blanket

A week or two ago Colin's beloved elephant pajamas aka "elawent tajamas" met an untimely death. Unfortunately because of repeated wearing of the pajamas, at bedtime a tragedy occured. Colin's toe poked through the worn out plastic feet. He noticed first as I was sitting with him in the rocker and screamed "my TAJAMAS!!!!" Chris and I had to explain to him that the pajamas had a boo-boo and that daddy would fix them. Needless to say, getting him into another pair of pajamas that night wasn't pretty.

Of course when we really looked at them later, we realized there was no saving the "elawent tajamas". Even if we could patch the plastic foot, they were getting pretty snug on Colin and were reaching the end of their run. So Chris had a fantastic idea to turn them into a blanket.

A few days later, Chris had the pajamas with him at work preparing to bring them to a seamstress when his coworker Beth volunteered to make them into a blanket. It looks amazing and Colin was floored.

He is currently sleeping in his "lion tajamas" holding tightly to the "elewent tajama blanket".

Here is a video of Colin seeing his new blanket for the first time:
